Xbox 360 owners today can get their first taste of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo High Definition Remix Beta. The “beta with the world’s longest name” is available to anyone who purchased Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 on Xbox Live Arcade.
And yes, it’s free. We knew you’d ask.
This unique Beta version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will allow players to select from one of two Street Fighter characters, Ryu or Ken, and battle against one another online. The Beta will help Capcom stress-test the network code underlying the online features that power the multiplayer modes of the full game.
The online modes for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta include Player or “Quarter” Match, Ranked Match and Tournament Mode. There is also the option to play offline (local) two-player matches.
The Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta will run for approximately eight weeks, ending around August 20.
To gain access to the Beta:
- Buy Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 for 800 Microsoft Points
- Select the “SFII HD Remix Beta” option on the main menu of Wolf
- You will be taken to a download blade, where you can confirm your download
- Once the Beta has finished downloading, head to the “Games” blade on your Xbox 360
- Fire up SSFIITHDR in the Demos section
