So far the latest Transformers game, War for Cybertron, has been getting some great feedback in previews. If you want to see for yourself, and you have an Xbox 360, then you can take a look at the demo.
Exclusive to Xbox 360 owners, the demo will grant players early access to a deep Transformers multiplayer experience, offering fans a sample of some of the character classes and game modes that will be found in the final version. It will feature full, 10-player matches and drop players straight into Molten, one of the game’s expansive maps set on the Transformers’ home planet of Cybertron.
Players will have access to the Scout and Soldier character classes and be able to experience upgrading and leveling up their Transformer to unlock weapons and abilities. Fans will compete with each other in two of the game’s adrenaline-pumping multiplayer modes:
- Team Deathmatch – A classic game mode that pits Autobots vs. Decepticons directly against one another in blistering head-to-head battle
- Conquest – An intense team-based mode that challenges each squad to control various power nodes on the map to earn points to achieve victory

Transformers: War for Cybertron challenges players to become the ultimate weapon as a TRANSFORMERS character in the final, epic war that will determine the survival of their entire race. Armed with a diverse arsenal of lethal, high-tech weaponry and the ability to instantly convert from robot to vehicle at any time, players will engage in heart-pounding battles on land and in the air in this gripping, 3rd person action shooter set in the TRANSFORMERS’ war-ravaged homeland. Complete with several multiplayer modes, Transformers: War for Cybertron allows gamers to play through story missions with their friends in drop in/drop out online co-op, and also create their very own TRANSFORMERS character for competitive head-to-head multiplayer modes, choosing among four distinct character classes, personalizing its look and selecting from a huge variety of weapons, skills and abilities.
The game will hit stores on June 22, 2010.
It sounds like two typical multiplayer modes, but the ability to transform should add a new dynamic. If you are a Transformers fan, then you are no doubt looking forward to War for Cybertron in a couple of weeks.
