The arcade classic game TRON is headed to Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday along with a 3D shooter called Omega Five. Both games will be available this Wednesday, January 9 at 9:00 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PST).
Featuring the familiar gameplay from the original, TRON has players doing battle against the insidious Master Control Program and his ruthless right-hand man, Sark. TRON offers a four-part test of skills, including racing light cycles, battling Sark’s tanks, fighting to enter the MCP cone and dodging grid bugs. As is normal for Xbox Live Arcade games, Tron offers both the original arcade game and an enhanced version with new graphics, improved sound and two-person multiplayer for both co-op and versus play. The game will be available worldwide (with the exception of Japan and Korea) for 400 Microsoft Points.
Omega Five, meanwhile, is a new high-definition shooter with enemies coming at players from all angles — even the background. Players will battle these enemies as Ruby, Tempest or other unlockable characters, and they can add another controller to play local co-op with a friend (no Xbox Live co-op, folks). Omega Five offers multiple levels of difficulty including “++Mode,â€? in which players are only allowed one hit. The game will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points.
