Let’s chalk this “gone gold” announcement up to a marketing team that apparently wants to hide Vampire Rain‘s existence. I mean, the game went gold today, we got the press release about it … and for some reason, it was the first we’ve ever heard the game was being developed — and by Artoon, the minds behind the Blinx games.
Regardless, the game does exist, and it’s going to hit North American stores on July 3. So what the heck is it? Glad you asked. Here’s the skinny, direct from Microsoft:
“Vampire Rain combines stealth, survival horror and shooter aspects of your favorite games as you lead a black ops unit to secretly eliminate one of the deadliest supernatural enemies you will ever face. Known as Nightwalkers, this highly evolved new breed of Vampire is intensely fast with super agility and they are converting humans to their kind at an alarming rate.”
The game’s section on xbox.com (see the link above) makes it look like a PS1 version of Splinter Cell with vampires. In spite of that, it’s still going to retail for $59.99.
Now don’t hurt yourself running out the door to pre-order….
