The Witcher 3 Opening Cinematic Goes Online Next Week

October 16, 2014 by Sara

It seems there are basically three massive RPGs on people’s radar for PS4 and Xbox One. One of them, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has been on our radar for several years now. Next week, The Witcher 3 Opening Cinematic will be on everyone’s radar as it makes its debut at the Golden Joystick awards and then online.

Normally info that a cinematic is going online isn’t all that grand. But this is The Witcher 3, people! Seems The Elder Scrolls Online has dropped off the face of the next-gen Earth, leaving Dragon Age Inquisition (which looks excellent) as The Witcher 3’s only big competition.

Frankly, I can’t wait for Dragon Age: Inquisition or The Witcher 3, which is why getting the chance to see The Witcher 3 Opening Cinematic online next week has got me giddy.

On October 24, The Witcher 3 Opening Cinematic will be shown on TV during the Golden Joystick Awards Ceremony. The trailer will show Geralt of Rivia following “The Trail” in an introduction that foreshadows the game’s main storyline.

After The Witcher 3 Opening Cinematic debuts on TV, it will find its way at this page on the game’s official website.

Wild Hunt is a story-driven RPG in which gamers play as Geralt of Rivia, one of a dying caste of monster hunters. As Geralt, players will embark on an open-world journey across a war-ravaged world that inevitably leads players “to confront a foe darker than anything humanity has faced so far.” But don’t all games say that?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt release date is February 24, 2015, so it’s still a ways off. However, seeing this cinematic will give Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC owners a nice taste of the drama to come.
