The second free game will launch November 16 and be available until November 30. Xbox One owners have two free games all month.
The first Games with Gold for November 2014 free game for Xbox 360 owners is Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise. The sequel to Microsoft and Rare’s Xbox original game is available for download now via Xbox Live.
The game isn’t much different from the original, with Xbox 360 owners building garden homes for their piñatas while overcoming a slew of challenges. This time there’s an evil Professor Pester involved to pose some of those challenges. The bigger addition to Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise is a sandbox mode in which players can build a garden, fill it with piñatas and just watch it grow.
On November 16, the second of the Xbox Games with Gold for November 2014 free games will appear on Xbox 360. And it’s a good one. Red Faction: Guerilla. will be available for download on Xbox Live from November 16 through November 30. Unlike previous games in the Red Faction series, Guerilla takes place in an open world and has the Earth Defense Force as the bad guys. The core of what makes Red Faction so cool is still intact. Players can still use weapons and vehicles to demolish the fully destructible buildings and cover objects.
Xbox One owners have two Xbox Games with Gold for November 2014 free games this month, though only one of them is “new” to the Games with Gold program. That new one is an indie game called Volgarr the Viking. Volgarr is pronounced “vulgar,” so prepare yourself for some potty humor.
Volgarr the Viking is a hack-and-slash platformer that looks and plays a lot like those games we all grew playing in the ’80s and early ’90s. It doesn’t shy away from being difficult, and the controls rely on just two buttons.
The second of the Xbox Games with Gold for November 2014 free games on Xbox xOne is a rerun. Chariot, a colorful puzzle platformer-type game that made its Games with Gold debut in October, is marking second straight month as part of the November Games with Gold lineup.
