A new Labyrinth-like game called Impacts 1.2 released today for iPhone and iPod touch. In Impacts, the player tilts the mobile device to roll a neutral-colored ball around the screen trying to collide with red, green and yellow balls. The player starts off with three lives and 0 points. If he/she collides with a green ball, 10 points are earned; a yellow ball, an extra life is earned; and a red ball, a life is lost. The game becomes more intense as the player earns more points.
Scores are recorded locally and new high scores are automatically submitted to the OpenFeint leaderboards. Scores can be posted to Facebook/Twitter and OpenFeint challenges can be sent to friends to make the game more social and competitive.
New modes and characters can be unlocked either through credit purchases or by completing goals in the game. So far there is an unlockable Sandbox mode, in which the player can modify Gravity, Ball Speed, Spawn Rates, Player Size, and Others’ Size; it has a separate leaderboard to keep competition fair. There are also two unlockable characters with unique abilities that significantly change gameplay, such as temporary invincibility. Impacts is lightweight, fast, and addictive, making it an ideal game to quickly pick up and play to pass time.
