The PS3 and Xbox 360 game Dead Space has been one of this fall’s most pleasant surprises in the gaming world, with survival-horror action that rivals the most storied franchises in the genre and graphics and audio that impress to no end. (Read our Dead Space review.) The story in Dead Space is sufficient for survival-horror games, but the real story takes place in the prequel materials that are present in a six-book comic book series and a new animated movie called Dead Space: Downfall.
Dead Space: Downfall follows the saga of the ill-fated crew of the USG Ishimura as they’re ravaged by the alien/demonic beings brought up from the planet’s surface onto the city-sized spacecraft. These disturbing opening chapters are animated in this feature-length film in an almost graphic-novel fashion, making the movie appropriate both to fans of the new video game and fans of anime. Dead Space: Downfall has recently released on DVD, and we’re offering one copy of it here in this giveaway.
