There’s nothing quite as taboo as watching teens explore love and relationships, but Lord help TV-watching audiences if various producers don’t throw those shows our way left and right, if for no other reason than we all want to live vicariously through those teenage relationships and think about those days “way back when.” Skins is one such program from BBC America, an edgy Brit-teen drama that follows the lives and loves of shameless teenagers who get high, drunk laid and up for school the next day.
Amazingly, the teens in Skins push the boundaries and manage their parents with the finesse that only teenagers can — giving those of us with younger kids a possible inside peek into how teens are going to wrap our minds as we age. In Skins, Tony is the best-looking boy in town, while his sidekick Sid is much less successful with the ladies — until the anorexic Cassie shows up. But, Sid’s in love with Michelle, the school hottie, who of course is dating Tony. Oh, the crazy life of a fictitious teen on an original UK television series.
