Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment today confirmed the arrival of six Blu-ray Disc catalog titles during the first quarter of 2008. The list is highlighted by the Blu-ray debuts of Ice Age on March 4 (pre-order from Amazon), Independence Day on March 11 — it will feature a Blu-ray exclusive trivia track and BD-Java Alien Scavenger Hunt game that will unlock additional bonus features — (pre-order Independence Day from Amazon), and I, Robot on March 11 (pre-order from Amazon).
I, Robot will feature a first for the Blu-ray Disc industry: direct access to in-movie features through one of the four colored buttons on the BD remote, allowing viewers to quickly access bonus materials such as commentaries, production diaries, extended and deleted scenes and trivia.
Additional Blu-ray titles to debut during Q1 will include psychological thriller Man On Fire starring Denzel Washington and Christopher Walken, available January 8 (pre-order from Amazon); Wall Street, starring Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas, available February 5 (pre-order from Amazon); and Me, Myself & Irene, starring Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger, available February 5 (pre-order from Amazon).
