Colts quarterback Andrew Luck got the victory of his young career in defeating Peyton Manning and the Broncos earlier this year. But an NBC Sunday Night Football victory against the Houston Texans tonight would give the Colts a 6-2 record and further advance Luck’s budding legacy. Considering the Texans have a 2-5 record, not to mention a new starting QB, that victory seems likely. But the Texans’ top-rated defense will have a lot to say about that. You can catch Sunday Night Football live on NBC 8:30 EST / 5:30 PST, or you can watch Colts vs Texans online free live streaming using one of several different methods.
Through seven games, Luck has managed to secure the fifth QBR in the league, ahead of stars such as Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler, Andy Dalton, Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger. His passing numbers aren’t jaw-dropping — 136-224 for 1,574 yards and 10 touchdowns — but he’s been incredibly effective along the way. This week marks the first time this season Luck and the Colts will be without Reggie Wayne, though, so he’ll have to find some new targets.
Houston, meanwhile, may have offensive issues of its own. The Texans will start Case Keenum at quarterback for tonight’s Sunday Night Football game, just one week after he and previous starter Matt Schaub were said to be getting equal evaluation. Keenum, a second-year quarterback, performed well in his first start against the Chiefs in Week 7, but it still resulted in a 17-16 loss. By most reports Schaub was feeling fine, which makes the decision to start a third-string QB in Week 9 somewhat of a slap in the face.
Tonight on the field, though, the only “slap” the Texans will be focused on will be the thud of their top-ranked defense slamming into Luck and his offensive line. It’ll be interesting to watch Colts vs Texans online free live streaming and see whether the Texans can re-produce their 2012 defensive performance. Last year in Houston, the Colts’ offensive line was taken apart by the Texans’ front seven. You think it’s a coincidence the Colts made a blockbuster trade for running back Trent Richardson?
In fact, tonight’s game on NBC could turn out to be The Trent Richardson Show. He’s bound to have one sooner or later, since he’s pretty much been a bust since joining Indianapolis. But against this Houston defense, the Colts could get Richardson the ball more than 20 times to keep the Texans on their toes and hesitate before blitzing Luck every down. Richardson may get additional touches anyway, with leading receiver Reggie Wayne not scheduled to play for the Colts.
If you want to see how it all unfolds you can catch Sunday Night Football on NBC or you can watch Colts vs Texans online free live streaming on DirecTV’s website. The latter options requires that you have the NFL Sunday Ticket Package, which carries a subscription. But, once you have that membership you can watch the live streaming version free of any game, including NBC’s Sunday Night Football matchups.
