We started DailyGame more than five years ago, at a time when the videogame industry was drastically different and when our own lives, in fact, were in a completely different place. During the past half decade, the videogame industry has seen plenty of developments, even an entirely new generation of hardware. But outside the industry, back here in the halls of DailyGame, we’ve had a new generation of our own.
It’s amazing how dramatically parenthood can change your world. Priorities change. Hobbies change. Day jobs become even more important in a suddenly one-income household. With all of this change, we knew the time would eventually come for things around DailyGame to change, too. And today is that day.
Say “hello” to the next generation of DailyGame. During the past five years we’ve developed a good reputation for videogame reviews and previews, and that material will remain the core of our content. However, much like our priorities have evolved, we felt it was time for DailyGame to evolve as well, primarily to reflect our ever-changing and newfound interests. Home entertainment. Sports. Space. The environment. This crazy thing called fatherhood. Basically, everything we talk about with our friends and coworkers. Sometimes these new topics might feel a bit more “bloggy.” Sometimes they might feel a bit uptight. Either way, you can rest assured that they’ll reflect our values and lots in life — and we imagine they’ll reflect many of yours, as well.
Again, welcome to the new-and-improved DailyGame, and thank you for your support during the past five years. We look forward to five more productive, informative and downright fun years with you right alongside us. And since this site, like life, is a continual work in progress, don’t hesitate to drop us an email or chat with us in the forums. After all, we’re all just trying to enjoy ourselves as we play the “daily game” of life.
