A new DDR game is coming exclusively to the Wii, Konami announced today, and it’s bound to be a hit with owners of the family-friendly console. Called DanceDanceRevolution: Disney Grooves, the rhythm-based game is scheduled to ship in March 2009.
DDR: Disney Grooves is being developed by Bemani, the DDR pioneers, and will include classic Disney songs and characters.
DanceDanceRevolution: Disney Grooves will feature popular Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy. It will include 40 Disney songs, although they will not all be available in the beginning. In the game, players will have to complete dance challenges in order to unlock more music.
DDR: Disney Grooves will also allow players to customize their Mii’s with special Disney costumes in a new Dressing Room mode. Additional exclusive modes will include a Groove World, in which players achieve goals to unlock cool new costumes stages and songs, as well as a Workout Mode, Training Mode and Advanced Mode for experienced DDR players.
In addition, the game will feature a My Studio mode that enables players to take pictures of their customized characters or strike a pose with classic Disney characters.
