New Titanfall Atlas Titan Video Shows ‘The Workhorse’

December 23, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

Electronic Arts has given Xbox One owners an early Christmas gift of sorts, releasing today a new Titanfall Atlas gameplay video. In the new Titanfall video, the publisher details some of the reasons the Atlas titan has been deemed “the workhorse” of the full Titanfall titan roster.

Interestingly, Xbox One (and other) gamers who pre-order the Titanfall Collector’s Edition will receive an 18-inch Atlas titan statue, so this video is a great way to see the vehicle that the statue is based on. Collectors will want to pre-order it soon, though, as pre-order quantities for the Titanfall Collector’s Edition are bound to sell out soon. You can order it using either of those links above.

Known as the workhorse among the titan classes, the Atlas excels where all other models fall short. The Atlas outperforms competing technologies on the battlefield by doing a little bit of everything. The Atlas represents the state-of-the-art in weapons platforms and provides good protection and increased mobility over the Ogre chassis.

With these diverse skills, the Titanfall Atlas gets results whether the mission demands reconnaissance, rapid assault, fire support, tactical support or a combination thereof.

Set in the near future on a distant frontier torn apart by war, Titanfall drops players in the middle of a conflict between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation and the Militia. The action is rapid and varied – featuring parkour-style wall running, massive double jumps and the ability to hijack titans. The freedom to shift back and forth between pilot and titan allows players to change tactics on the fly, attacking or escaping depending on the situation and extending the action vertically to new heights.

Titanfall is the first game from Respawn Entertainment, a crew of former Infinity Ward (read: Call of Duty) developers. The game is exclusive to Microsoft platforms — Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. If you want to play as the Titanfall Atlas on the game’s release date, you’ll have to wait until March 11, 2014, when Titanfall goes on sale in North America. The Titanfall release date in Europe is two days later, on March 13.
