This fall’s a great time to be a racing-game fan, with both Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Forza Horizon releasing within a month. Today, we’ve got info about the music stations that will be in Forza Horizon, as well as the initial details about the Forza Horizon Season Pass.
Forza Horizon is set against the backdrop of a fictional automotive music festival, the Horizon Festival. The game’s music list therefore includes more than 65 songs spanning more than 60 artists. It was curated and created specifically for the game by Rob da Bank, a BBC DJ and creator of the Bestival music festivals in Europe. Players can tune into three distinct radio stations while playing Forza Horizon, each with a different style of music and each with its own authentic DJ giving players Horizon Festival updates:
- Station 1 / “Horizon Bass Arena”: A bleeding-edge mix of the latest electronic and dance music, from dubstep to electro to drum & bass. If it’s got bass, you’ll find it here.
- Station 2 / “Horizon Pulse”: An eclectic selection of indie festival favourites, remixed to keep you driving
- Station 3 / “Horizon Rocks”: If it’s got guitars in it, it’s here. Whether these bands are hitting the festival scene for the first time in 2012 or are legends reforming for one last gig, you’ll find a diverse selection of music on this station, all turned up to eleven.
The Forza Horizon Season Pass will be gamers’ ticket to automatic access to the Forza Horizon Expansion Pack (available Dec. 18, 2012), along with six car packs, as they’re released through the next year. Each car pack will include six new vehicles and those who purchase the Season Pass will also get access to five exclusive season pass vehicles and the launch day pack.
The Forza Horizon Season Pass will be available for purchase starting Oct. 23, on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for only 4,000 Microsoft points ($49.99 USD), representing a 17 percent overall savings as compared to purchasing the content separately.
