The Chicago Bears are coming off an epic Monday Night Football victory over the Green Bay Packers last week, but fortunately for them their next Midwest showdown takes place at home in Soldier Field. Late Thursday, doctors cleared Bears QB Jay Cutler to play against the Lions, and Chicago head coach Marc Trestman announced almost immediately that Cutler will start today against Detroit. You may recall that Megatron’s performance, in fact, inspired plenty of conspiracy theories about a certain Cowboys wide receiver’s sideline tantrum being related to a lack of touches from Tony Romo. It’ll be interesting to see how Johnson responds this week against the Bears secondary, which is giving up 253.6 yards per game in the air.

Even after missing time, Cutler has the ninth-best QBR so far this season, according to ESPN, so having him back will be a moral victory for sure, and perhaps be key to delivering a literal one as well.
