The Bengals listed Green as “questionable” for today’s Panthers game, but sources told ESPN Friday that he’ll watch today’s Panthers Bengals game from the sideline with a toe injury.
While the Bengals’ Dalton will have one less receiving target, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton may be getting a reprieve. Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart returned to practice Thursday and may find his way into a few series in today’s Bengals game.
Stewart had rushed for 88 yards and caught 7 passes for 58 yards before missing the past two games with a knee strain. Cincinnati is ranked 27th against the run, so with Cam Newton as a dual-threat QB and Stewart potentially in the lineup, the Panthers could exploit the Bengals on the ground like the Patriots’ Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen did in last week’s victory.
