Will Wright is one of the game industry’s few luminaries, a developer who actually gets gamers’ attention whenever he speaks. How did he gain this clout? By creating some of the most revered game franchises of all time (Sim City and The Sims), that’s all. Wright’s latest outing, Spore, is nothing short of a life simulator, sans all the daily chores. With Spore, gamers can create their own amoeba, determining its flagella and everything, then help it evolve to a land-dwelling creature, a caveman and, eventually, mingle with other creatures to become a space-traveling species. No question, Spore is one of 2008’s most anticipated games, and if you’ve not yet gotten your hands on it (it shipped this week), we’re teaming with EA to give away one copy of Spore so one lucky winner can test it out without having to pony up any cash.
