Of all the films in which he has starred, Paul Newman is perhaps known best for Cool Hand Luke, a loner who won’t — or can’t — bend to the arbitrary rules of his captivity on the chain gang. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is preparing to release Cool Hand Luke in a Deluxe Edition DVD, one copy of which we’re giving away here. This new DVD will include a new digital transfer, including of the audio, which means you’ll hear with incredible clarity the classic line “What we’ve got here is…failure to communicate.” It’s also got commentary by historian and Newman biographer Eric Lax, and a new making-of documentary. In other words, this is DVD owners’ best chance to see once again George Kennedy, Jo Van Fleet and Strother Martin in this classic film.
