Javier Bardem caught the American movie-going crowd by storm with his performance as a psychotic killer in No Country for Old Men, but the gripping actor had played a host of dramatic roles prior to that Oscar-winning piece. One such role came in Extasis, an intense film (and one of Bardem’s first) about a reckless 25-year-old man named Roger (Bardem) who concocts an outrageous scheme with his friend Max and girlfriend Lola to rob their families and flee their hometown.
However, after Max is arrested, Roger impersonates him to dupe Max’s estranged father into giving them bail money — and then refuses to give up his luxurious life.
