Sherwood to Debut $300 Blu-ray Player in November

October 15, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Sherwood America, a company best known for its audio equipment, has announced plans to introduce its first Blu-ray Disc player, the BDP-5003, this November. The Sherwood BDP-5003 could be a good solution for consumers who have been looking for a Blu-ray player that’s less costly than the $400 PS3. The BDP-5003 will retail for $299.95.

Sherwood’s first Blu-ray player supports BD Bonus View (Blu-ray Profile 1.1), can achieve 1080p video playback at both 60 Hz or 24 Hz, and supports both Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Lossless Audio through its HDMI 1.3 port. The BDP-5003 also upscales standard DVDs and plays virtually all modern disc formats.

The company did not announce when in November the BDP-5003 would be available.
