Call of Duty Ghosts Nemesis DLC Now Live for Xbox

August 5, 2014 by Sara Leave a Comment

Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners can now download the Call of Duty Ghosts Nemesis DLC, the fourth and final installment in the COD Ghosts Season Pass. The DLC includes four new multiplayer maps and the final episode in the Extinction narrative.

PS4 and PS3 owners will have access to the Call of Duty Ghosts Nemesis DLC in four to six weeks. Although Activision didn’t specify the Nemesis DLC PS4 release date, that duration is the average duration of the timed-exclusivity for Xbox platforms.

The four new multiplayer maps in Nemesis are small to medium in size, making them ideal for the fast, twitchy gameplay that’s the franchise’s hallmark. Goldrush is set in the Southwest United States amid an abandoned gold mine where tunnels and shafts create support medium- and long-range combat. The new Subzero map takes place on an evacuated submarine base in the frigid Canadian outpost where “a mysterious terror” can take-out opponents even if your bullets don’t.

A new Dynasty map is anchored by multiple pathways that crisscross a lakeside Chinese village that’s anything but serene, while the Showtime map is “a sadistic reimagining” of the small “Shipment” map from COD 4: Modern Warfare.

As was the case with the previous three rounds of DLC, each of the maps in Nemesis includes a unique Field Order.

Rounding out the Call of Duty Ghosts Nemesis DLC is the final chapter in the Extinction narrative. Extinction Episode 4: Exodus follows the CIF Unit’s harrowing escape from the alien underworld and the successful recovery of Dr. Cross and the cortex. The team is now tasked with fighting off the Cryptid army while getting key personnel to safety by restoring the shuttle’s power and launching it to a low-Earth-orbit space station.

Unlike previous by-the-numbers chapters, Episode 4: Exodus lets players really decide how they want to make their escape. Choose your path, gather new intel, craft new weapons and fight your way to the end however makes sense to you. Just be wary of a new batch of Cryptid enemies, the Ancestors, whose lethal powers include mind control and psionic attacks.

Nemesis is available as a stand-alone download for $14.99, or as part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Season Pass.
