Of course, it’s helped that Romo has running back Murray to do some heavy offensive lifting from the backfield. Against the Seahawks Murray ran for 115 yards, making him just the second running back ever with six straight 100-yard games to start a season. Joseph Randle has been no slouch, averaging 7.1 yards per carry, but Murray is clearly the rushing story of both the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL.
That’s not good news for the NY Giants going into today’s Cowboys game. The Giants allow an average of 116 rushing yards, 17th in the league, and nearly 262 yards in the air, ranking them 24th. With Romo and Murray clicking on all cylinders, today’s Giants Cowboys game could be a blood bath.
With that said, quarterback Eli Manning had seemed to finally find his place in the Giants offense before last week’s blowout loss. Though his season stats aren’t great — 125 completions for 1,325 yards and 11 TDs — they had only begun to pile up in Weeks 4 and 5, and pundits like Colin Cowherd were calling Manning and the Giants offense one to watch.
