Star Trek The Original Series has been the subject of much debate with its release on DVD (and HD DVD). When the First Season was released as a box set late last year, CBS and Paramount did some remastering of the video and audio, even replacing some of the special effects. At the time, Star Trek fans weren’t sure if they’d like the changes. However, now that Star Trek: The Original Series Season 3 is preparing to go warp speed toward retail, it’s clear that those remastering efforts are clearly appreciated by new and old Star Trek fan alike.
Star Trek The Original Series: Season Three Remastered, arriving as a seven-disc DVD box set, has been remastered for the first time with fully restored episodes that have brilliant picture quality, new CGI special effects and a re-recorded score. The box set contains all 24 episodes from Season Three as well as two versions of the famous “The Cage” episode (the original pilot episode plus the extended version), new rare home movies, collectible data cards and special features.
