Fans of The Elder Scrolls series have been clamoring for details about the PS4 and Xbox One versions of The Elder Scrolls Online, shown at E3 in PC form only. Today, Bethesda Softworks announced that The Elder Scrolls Online gameplay will be shown live on stage at QuakeCon 2013. Although QuakeCon is traditionally a PC-focused event, Bethesda has in the past used the venue to show and discuss console games. Does that mean we may finally learn more about The Elder Scrolls Online for PS4 and Xbox One?
The possibility is definitely there. Of all the main-stage events Bethesda outlined, The Elder Scrolls Online gameplay session has by far the most presenters, with five people slated to speak. The only other gameplay session scheduled to have more than two presenters is the Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches demo, which has three people speaking. In addition, The Elder Scrolls Online demo will be one of several such gameplay sessions and presentations broadcast live by Twitch.tv.
Adding to the possibility of learning more about The Elder Scrolls Online for PS4 and Xbox One
is that QuakeCon will mark the very first live gameplay stream of the game. Giving so much attention to the online RPG is completely warranted, based on what we saw of the PC version at E3, but it could very well be an indicator that we’ll finally learn more details about the PS4 and Xbox One versions as well. Information is all we may expect, though; seeing actual The Elder Scrolls Online gameplay footage from a PS4 or Xbox One build is extremely unlikely at this point.
Below is the full schedule of panels and game presentations taking place on the Ventrilo Main Stage during QuakeCon 2013. The sessions include the late addition of a panel with Hugo Martin, Art Director at id Software, who will present the work he created as a concept artist for the Jaegers, the giant humanoid mechs featured in the summer blockbuster movie “Pacific Rim.”
