Life – The Game: A Review

September 18, 2017 by Sara Leave a Comment

life as a game play

If you are looking for a different perspective on life, you may want to give Life – The Game a try. The game consists of a web version as well as a downloadable option. As the name suggests, it takes you through the various stages of life, giving you a chance to pass them all successfully. This is a simplistic yet rich game that is often as difficult as real life but does it pass muster? Find out here:

The Concept

The game certainly doesn’t shy away from any of the stages of life. From giving birth to dying, you are taken through every phase that you can possibly imagine. This is definitely one of the best aspects of Life – The Game. You get to “learn” how to talk, do homework, and even have the pleasure of popping zits on your face.

You then get to move onto dating which uses an app called Finder which looks stunning close to its real-life counterpart. You get to go to college and learn the really important things such as beer pong. When you are ready to settle down, you can get married then start having kids of your own.

The game even takes a mid-life crisis into consideration where you get to spend some time sunning yourself on an island beach surrounded by ridiculous objects. You get to move onto old age which consists of babysitting your grandchildren and sorting out your pills. The end is inevitable and the game comes to a close when you die.

The Graphics

The graphics in this game are quite cartoonish and unrealistic, although no less fun. While there isn’t a sense of authenticity, there is no confusion about what every object is. The graphics are incredibly clear and vibrant, adding to the entertaining factor.

One of the reasons that it is actually fun to lose a level is the scathing remarks that you get at the end. The game is not shy about telling you just how badly you have failed. While it does sound horrible, it is actually laugh-out-loud hilarious.

The Controls

The controls on this game are exceedingly simple. You press either the left button on your mouse (LMB) or just click on the mousepad on your laptop. Either of these actions will help to get you through the game.

The controls may be easy to pick up but it doesn’t mean that this game is easy by a long shot. You need incredibly fast reflexes or you will find yourself failing the level over and over again. If you feel like you are stuck, pressing P will help you to skip the level.

The Verdict

So, when it is all said and done, just how well does Life – The Game hold up? Well, it is actually a great game to play. While it is not easy (it requires some serious skill) it is funny and is bound to keep you entertained for a long time. It is also a nice touch just how well the game mirrors certain aspects of life very, very closely. It is a good game for all ages, as long as you have the moves.
