London, United Kingdom – Sooty, eponymous star of The Sooty Show and Britain’s most beloved and enduring children’s television personality appears today in his debut iPad app – Sooty Paint. Developed by UserCurve for the iPad, Sooty Paint provides twenty beautiful hand drawn illustrations and one blank canvas for fans of the mischievous yellow bear to colour. Amongst its unique features is a ‘magic colour’ function allowing random and unlimited colour combinations to be generated.
Sooty’s on screen contemporaries Richard, Sweep and Soo have recorded bespoke audio for the app providing an entertaining and educational aural accompaniment to the painting fun whilst a host of melodious tunes from the TV show feature as backing music. A full screen function is provided allowing unfettered painting and, once a masterpiece has been created, images can be saved to ‘photos’ to keep, print or share.
Sooty is a British yellow bear and TV character in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and other countries. The children’s television show that bears his name has continued in various forms since the 1950s and, according to the Guinness Book of Records, is the longest-running children’s programme in the UK.
