It’s Monday, which means Nintendo is uploading three more games on the Wii Shop Channel at 9am PST. This week’s games are Kirby’s Avalanche, Streets of Rage 3 and Legend of Hero Tonma.
In Kirby’s Avalanche (SNES), Nintendo’s pink hero takes a break from swallowing enemies to take over a blob-popping puzzle game in an effort to win the Dream Land Avalanche Competition. The gameplay revolves around stacking matching blobs and boulders that, when enough are stacked, explode and rain down on the opponent’s field of play.
Streets of Rage 3 (Sega Genesis) returns players to battle the Syndicate and its shady leader, Mr. X., who has developed lifelike robots to take the place of various city officials so he can gain total control. Playing as Axel, Skate and Blaze, players must stop the threat with their fighting skills and weapons. The game also features a few secret characters and various endings.
And finally, Legend of Hero Tonma (TurboGrafix 16) is an action game with comic-like visuals that puts players in control of Tonma, a magician whose role is to travel to another world and save the princess. Players jump and shoot through seven stages, collecting power-ups and barriers along the way to grow in strength and give them an advantage over the bosses at the end of each level.
