The app uses the iPhone’s internal motion sensor so that you can make swinging and stabbing motions with your iPhone, just like you were holding a real weapon in your hand. The iPhone will also vibrate in your hand in concert with the action.
The 15 weapons include some of the most famous and iconic swords in history, for example Spartacus’ legendary Gladius, the fearsome Scimitar, or a Samurai’s deadly Katana. For the adventurous, iSword features exotic options like a chainsaw or a light sword. All of these 15 weapons can be tested on six different target surfaces: wood, glass, stone, metal, a monster, or animal. On selecting a surface, the entire background changes to match the surface and the impact and aftermath have their own animations as well as sound effects.
