Majesco today announced it is working on Cake Mania 2 for the Nintendo DS. The original Cake Mania debuted on PC and was downloaded more than 50 million times — before it sold more than 280,000 units worldwide on the DS. So, the chances are high that you’re one of the folks who might be interested in this sweet little piece of news we’ve baked up.
In Cake Mania 2, players use the DS stylus to lead Jill through more than 200 different levels of baking and frosting madness. The tools at players’ disposal will include 50 unique kitchen upgrades that players can buy with cumulative bakery earnings.
Cake-bakers must work quickly and accurately in Cake Mania 2 to please an new demanding customer base that includes aliens, federal agents, rock stars and grandmas. There are also new cake shapes, decorations and frosting flavors, as well as a new Endless Baking mode.
Players’ baking experience in Cake Mania 2 for DS will be non-linear, with multiple endings taking Jill to exotic locations like an underwater theme park and outer space.
Cake Mania 2 for the DS is expected to release in the second quarter of 2008.
