Starbreeze Studios, the developer of The Darkness and Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, has announced at GDC that it’s working with Electronic Arts to “reinvent one of EA’s most acclaimed classic franchises.”
The title, with the internal code name Project RedLime, is being developed for the PlayStation 3 (PS3), Xbox 360 and PC.
“We’re already deep in development on Project RedLime, and the team at EA is giving us the time we need to perfect our vision,” said Johan Kristiansson, CEO of Starbreeze Studios. “We’re excited to bring a new perspective and gameplay innovation to this beloved fiction.”
So what is this “beloved fiction” and “classic EA franchise”? Nobody’s letting any information out the door, but with Starbreeze behind it, you can be assured that at the very least it will look remarkable.
