The original Lost Planet came out early in the life of the Xbox 360. It featured some giant insects and massive robots. The game was a modest success. The original game was eventually ported to the PS3, but it’s taken several years for the sequel. Today Capcom has announced that the sequel has shipped.
Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced the global availability of Lost Planet® 2 for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Utilizing Capcom’s proprietary graphics engine, MT Framework™ 2.0, the planet comes to life with foliage and structures that react to the massive explosions resulting from the battles that are taking place all over the planet. The true stars of Lost Planet 2 are the larger than life Akrid that inhabit E.D.N. III. Players will utilize teamwork tactics, their arsenal of weapons, and numerous robotic vital suits as they fight for control of the thermal energy that is held within these beasts.
