Guitar Hero World Tour Getting High-End Instruments

August 1, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Activision’s next Guitar Hero outing, Guitar Hero World Tour, is going the Rock Band route with an all-band setup, and just in case World Tour buyers want to go really hardcore, Activision today announced a partnership that will see high-end instruments being available later this year.

In partnering with Logitech, Activision will let the peripheral manufacturer “develop and market premium instrument controllers” for every version of the game (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2). Logitech’s instruments will be compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour’s advanced feature set.

At E3 2008, DailyGame saw some high-end wooden instruments being produced for Rock Band 2, so Activision’s partnership with Logitech isn’t all that surprising. Only time will tell, however, whether the Logitech instruments will hold up and be as “premium” as the Rock Band 2 instruments we saw in Los Angeles.
