GoldenEye 007 is making what could be a triumphant return to a Nintendo console, as Activision today shipped GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo Wii and DS. The mega-publisher also released today James Bond 007: Blood Stone, an original Bond experience for Xbox 360, PS3 PC and Nintendo DS. Both games are penned by legendary Bond writer Bruce Feirstein.
GoldenEye 007, a modern take on the legendary GoldenEye from the Nintendo 64 days, has been upgraded to make full use of the Wii’s motion control capabilities. The fast-paced FPS also involves covert gameplay, thus offering multiple ways to complete each mission. In addition, Activision made sure to include four-player split-screen multiplayer options with 50 total characters (eight classic Bond characters), 10 maps, three standard modes and 17 special modifiers that allow gamers to create hundreds of game combinations. GoldenEye 007 also features online multiplayer for up to eight players and an XP system for unlockables and achievements.
Meanwhile, James Bond 007: Blood Stone for the Xbox 360 and PS3 features Daniel Craig’s lethal and gritty James Bond style via cover-based firefights, hand-to-hand combat and explosive driving sequences. The adventure takes gamers on a global chase on land and sea through Athens, Istanbul, Monaco, Siberia and Bangkok. The battles continue online via 16-person multiplayer modes that have spies battling mercenaries.
