Well, all those Walmart Black Friday sales and doorbuster deals at other retailers paid off for Nintendo this weekend, as the video game company announced this morning that consumers snapped up 1.5 million Nintendo gaming systems. Does that mean it’s on like Donkey Kong, or would that saying get us hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit?
Either way, with numbers like that on Black Friday weekend, the question now becomes how many more systems Nintendo will move on Cyber Monday, when there are plenty of discounts still to be had.

Of the 1.5 million Black Friday week sales for Nintendo, 900,000 units were of the Nintendo DS, and 600,000 were Wii consoles. The totals came between Nov. 21 and Nov. 27, according to the company’s internal sales estimates.
Nintendo’s Black Friday sales push was fueled by multiple new hardware colors, each of which came bundled with games. Some of the bundles, which provide a great value for shoppers, are still available. If you click on the Amazon and Walmart Cyber Monday links above, you can get them there while online supplies last.
