Mario Kart, step aside. Well, that’s what the team at Team6 Game Studios is saying, anyway. Team6 is currently developing a new Wii-exclusive kart racer called Supersonic Racer. No release date was announced.
Team6 has worked on several previous Wii-exclusive racing games, so the company isn’t exactly a fly-by-night studio. In Supersonic Racer, the kart racing action will take place with 12 wacky characters taking the wheel of some equally crazy vehicles. Well, crazy for a kart racer, anyway. Among the vehicles on tap to appear in Supersonic Racer are a space shuttle, a monstertruck, a pizzadude in his car, a taxi driver and a magnetic superbike from the year 2400
The crazy kart-racing action will take place across four crazy worlds. Players will cruise through the burning heat on the Nightmare World, witness the immensity of a planet that houses all the world’s garbage in Trash World, hold their breath in Aqua World and see how games really work in Game World.
Team6’s previous Wii racers have included Monstertrucks Mayhem, Speed, Calvin Tuckers: Farm Animal Racing Tournament, and FlatOut Wii.
