The next-gen debut of Turok, the sci-fi first person shooter with dinosaurs, will be getting a PC version when it releases in spring 2008. The game had previously only been announced for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The console version of Turok will hit retail stores on February 5, 2008. Touchstone did not reveal a specific release date for its PC counterpart.
Turok will be set in the future and have players take on the role of Joseph Turok, a former black ops commando who’s now part of an elite special forces squad known as Whiskey Company. The Company is on a mission to take down a war criminal, Turok’s former mentor, Roland Kane. Set on a planet inhabited by Kane and his Mendel-Gruman Corporation soldiers, Turok must use his elite military training to elude Kane’s well-trained army and the unpredictable dinosaurs, huge insects and other massive creatures that populate the environment.
The PC version, developed by Aspyr Studios, will include multiplayer modes for up to 16 players per game. The console versions will presumably include those same modes as well.
