Few films on Blu-ray really demand a 3D viewing. The X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-ray 3D set is shaping up to be one of them. Twentieth Century Fox has announced the X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-ray 3D and standard Blu-ray sets will release on Oct. 14, making it one of the first must-watch Blu-ray 3D releases of Q4.

Amazon pre-orders are now available for both sets, with the 3D version coming in at a nice discounted price of $27.99 as of this writing. If you can’t wait that long, the Digital HD version of the film will release Sept. 23, the same day as Neighbors with Seth Rogen and Zac Efron.

It’s safe to say plenty of our readers are looking forward to this Oct. 14 Blu-ray 3D release date. So far X-Men Days of Future Past has grossed nearly $740 million worldwide. A goodly number of those fans will likely want to take the film home for repeated viewing.

The X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-ray (3D and 2D) sets, as well as the DVD set, include nearly an hour of never-before-seen special features. Among the bonus features are an exploration of the background story and creation of the building of the Sentinels program, and a gag reel. The full list of special features includes:
