Sony has announced a new promotion whereby anyone who purchases a $5 “Buck Box” at a participating Taco Bell location will automatically be entered for a chance to “Play the Future First” and win a free PS4 — every 15 minutes — before the PS4 release date.
Sony and Taco Bell’s “Play the Future First” promotion runs in the United States from Sept. 26 to Nov. 10, giving thousands of fans the chance to win a free PS4 days before the PlayStation 4 even hits retail on Nov. 15. During the promotion, each PS4-branded Taco Bell $5 Buck Box or Big Box – which includes a Cheesy Gordita Crunch or Crunchwrap Supreme, a Burrito Supreme, a Crunchy Taco and a medium fountain drink – will include a unique code. That code can be texted into Taco Bell for a chance to win a free PS4 prize pack.
What’s in said goodie bag? Glad you asked. The prize pack includes one PS4 system, one copy of the PS4-exclusive game “Knack,” and a one-year membership to PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) so you can play online with your shiny new PS4.
Consumers can also request a code without purchase by mail or online. Prize packs will be shipped on or around Tuesday, Nov. 12. PS4 branded $5 Buck Boxes or Big Boxes will be available at participating locations while supplies last.
If a Sony promotion with Taco Bell sounds familiar, that’s because it should. The two companies previously partnered in 2012 to give away the PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) before that handheld system launched in North America on Feb. 22, 2012. This new promo to win a free PS4 kicks off “a multi-year partnership … that will continue to bring innovative gaming experiences and craveable food to fans across the U.S.”
Translation: this may not be your first chance to win a free PS4 at Taco Bell, and future promotions worldwide may be rolled out to the company’s non-Taco-Bell restaurants. This promo only runs in the United States.
Now for the fine print. This promotion to win a free PS4 begins at 12:01 AM (ET) on Sept. 26, 2013, and ends at 11:59:59 PM (ET) on Nov. 10, 2013. It’s open to legal residents of the United States or D.C. (excluding Hawaii), and consumers must be 18 or older to win.
