Rockstar Games has unveiled an impressive list of Grand Theft Auto 5 exclusive content for gamers who upgrade from an existing version of the game to GTA 5 for PS4 and Xbox One. In addition to the Grand Theft Auto 5 exclusive content, PS4 and Xbox One owners will able to access all the add-on content they purchased as part of the GTA 5 Special Edition or the GTA 5 Collector’s Edition last year.
The release date for GTA 5 on PS4 and Xbox One is Nov. 18.
The GTA 5 exclusive items, listed below, are available specifically for returning players. Although Rockstar designed the exclusives largely as a motivator to upsell gamers to a new version, the exclusive content does serve a purpose. Each of the items is connected to activities that will help players experience the game’s massive world in new ways.
For instance, some of the content includes new events, challenges and rewards like exclusive new vehicles including the “Imponte Duke O’Death” vehicle (like an armored black ‘General Lee’ from Dukes of Hazzard) and the Dodo seaplane. Other new vehicles include a Cheval Marshall monster truck and a faster and more maneuverable Blimp. New Stock Car races will also be available.
There is also a new murder mystery in which gamers follow a trail of clues to unravel a grisly murder mystery. Once it’s solved, players will unlock two Noir-style filters that can be applied to the Story Mode and Snapmatic photos to make them appear like an old-school crime film.
Rockstar Games has also introduced two new weapons, a high-powered Rail Gun that comes with its own set of Shooting Range Challenges and a hatchet. A new wildlife photography challenge will also open up exclusively for PS4 and Xbox One gamers, with the reward for cataloging unique animal species being a special Kraken Sub.
Another new challenge will be fore players to track down and photograph monkey graffiti art to earn new monkey outfits (available to all players) and unlock a special Go Go Monkey Blista exclusively for returning players.
The Grand Theft Auto 5 exclusive content listed above will also be available to PC owners who own a previous version of GTA 5 once the updated version ships on January 27, 2015.
If you purchased the Special Edition or the Collector’s Edition last year, when you upgrade to one of the new systems, you will automatically have those items unlocked and accessible. Those in-game bonuses include the Stunt Plane Trials, Bonus Outfits and Tattoos, and the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer all for Story Mode use; as well as the Custom Classic GTA Parent Characters and the high-end Khamelion electric car for GTA Online.
