Liquid5 Secures Strategic Seed Funding and Expertise

March 20, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

London, United Kingdom – UK based application and games developer Liquid5 has secured seed funding for a range of new product streams and cross promotional platforms. Investment has been secured by the firm’s co-founders Ted Nash and Nick Reffitt from Marc Nohr (co-founder and CEO of Kitcatt Nohr Digitas), Steve Pankhurst (co-founder of FriendsReunited) and Tim Ward (former marketing director at FriendsReunited).

Commenting on the investment, Ted Nash said: “I am delighted to have secured investment and input from Tim, Steve and Marc on Liquid5. We are looking to expand the business quickly through the products and platforms we create.

“To have access to these three will be invaluable to Nick and I as we continue to expand the business and its offerings. I believe we have great foundations to create something significant and with their expertise and experience, we have a great opportunity to take Liquid5 to exciting new places.”

The exact amount of funding has not been disclosed, but it is said to be ‘enough’ to accelerate product development and recruitment significantly.

While the company recognises that funding is essential to capitalise on the team’s new product concepts, so too is the expertise that will be made available by Nohr, Pankhurst and Ward.

Liquid5 growth

Liquid5 offers a variety of applications, games and social media tools to its customers which total more than 6,000,000 across the company’s product portfolio.

Ted Nash began his entrepreneurial online career at the age of 12 by setting up an affiliate marketing site. Two years ago Nash became the first teenager to achieve 1 million downloads on Apple’s flagship App Store with a range of products.

Central to the success of Liquid5 is the alliance of Nash and Nick Reffitt, with whom he has been working with for 8 years. They began creating ventures together when both were aged 14.

“At Liquid5 we create products that entertain and enthuse people from all ages, with all kinds of interests, from all over the world,” said Nash.

“We build products that we personally want to use – and we aim to make the feeling mutual among our customers. Ultimately our promise is to make beautiful, usable products that people love. We want to empower all our consumers to contribute to our product decisions and help sculpt our direction as a company.”
