Longmont, Colorado – Monkey in the Middle Apps announces the launch of their new educational game, Middle School Algebra 8th Grade, which is available now from the App Store. While helping the monkey jump from level to level, students practice their middle school Algebra 1 topics. Joining the previously released Math, Science, and Vocabulary apps, Middle School Algebra 8th Grade help fills the “app gap” for junior high students.
Algebra truly is a big jump in Mathematics because it is the first time students see variables and symbols instead of just numbers. Unfortunately, it’s also a place where many kids get stuck and give up on Math. Our children need to succeed and feel confident in their Algebra skills so they can move on to Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus in high school.
Fun for Students:
The Middle School Algebra 8th Grade app gives students a fun way to practice at their own pace until they’re comfortable with each topic. The big change with the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch is that this isn’t just happening in the classroom. Learning takes place in small chunks whenever and wherever it is convenient – on the bus, waiting for a soccer game, or at home.

While it’s fun for students, this app has been designed for teachers. The quiz topics have been carefully chosen to follow common Algebra textbooks and core standards. Each quiz also includes review notes and links to online tutorials and videos. Most importantly, teachers can track progress for an entire classroom using either score emails or web based reports.
The free app includes four quizzes: Words to Equations, Evaluating Expressions, 1 Step Equations, and 2 Step Equations. The Pro version adds quizzes on Linear Equations, Multi-step Equations, Inequalities, Systems Equations, Rational Equations, and Exponential Functions.
