Originally movie fans thought they’d watch the Jurassic World trailer debut on or around Thanksgiving. Turns out Universal had other plans. The movie studio today “leaked” its own Jurassic World trailer two days early, giving fans worldwide a chance to watch the Jurassic World trailer online right now.
It’s surprising to see just how many clips Universal shared of the next Jurassic Park movie in this new trailer. Truth be told, I wasn’t expecting much more than a little teaser with some stomp-induced concentric circles in a glass of water and maybe a few screams. So I was pleasantly surprised to watch the Jurassic World trailer and see two full minutes of actual movie clips.
Chris Pratt, best known recently for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, is featured throughout the Jurassic World trailer. Makes sense, though, as he’s the main (human) character. The trailer shows him in various areas hunting a mutant dinosaur through the massive Jurassic World theme park, which is crawling with little kids a la Sea World or Disneyland.
It all looks innocent enough, not to mention incredibly controlled and commercial, until the hybrid dinosaur gets loose. Apparently it will eat anything that moves, which could lead to some moments that echo the rainy nighttime T-Rex scene from the original Jurassic Park.
As you watch the Jurassic World trailer (below) you’ll see more than a dozen CG dinosaurs, including at least one predator. Unfortunately, the main villain isn’t one of them. All you’ll see are its legs.
Jurassic World will hit theaters on June 12, 2015. I frankly hadn’t read too much about the movie, and nobody had really seen much of it before Universal unleashed the movie above that let us watch the Jurassic World trailer early. Having now seen the video, I can’t wait to watch the entire thing. Next June can’t come soon enough.
