The Jersey Boys have invaded radio, Broadway and the big screen. In November they’ll head directly into your home, as Warner Bros. has announced the Jersey Boys Blu-ray release date as Nov. 11.
Jersey Boys, directed by Clint Eastwood, released earlier this year to mixed reviews. Though the film didn’t hit the proverbial high note in box-office sales, the Jersey Boys Blu-ray release may sing a different tune.
Jersey Boys stars John Lloyd Young, whom some will remember as the Tony Award-winner for his portrayal of The Four Seasons lead singer, Frankie Valli. Young reprises his role for the Clint Eastwood-directed film. Erich Bergen stars as Bob Gaudio, who wrote or co-wrote all of the group’s biggest hits, while Michael Lomenda and Vincent Piazza star as Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito, respectively, two original members of The Four Seasons.
Christopher Walken stars as mobster Gyp DeCarlo. Presumably the film needed more cow bell.
The Jersey Boys movie tells the story of the iconic 1960s rock group as they rise to fame. Naturally the film includes a bunch of the group’s hits, including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Dawn,” “Rag Doll,” “Bye Bye Baby” and “Who Loves You.”
The Jersey Boys Blu-ray combo pack will include the feature film and three bonus features. The DVD set will include just one.
The Jersey Boys Blu-ray combo pack includes “From Broadway To The Big Screen,” an overview of how Clint Eastwood and the producers evolved the production for theatrical (and now home) release, plus two features we don’t know much about: “Too Good To Be True” and “‘Oh, What A Night’ To Remember.”
That final bonus feature, “‘Oh, What A Night’ To Remember,” is the only one included on the DVD release.
