Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass Details

September 1, 2014 by Sara Leave a Comment

2K Games has announced plans to release four add-on DLC packs for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel following its Oct. 14 release date. Normally you’d have to pay $40 for those DLC packs. With a newly announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass, those packs come down to $29.99.

The Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel DLC will build on the existing content that lets gamers play as Claptrap, Wilhelm, Nisha or Athena. Just exactly how that DLC will expand on the game has yet to be announced. 2K did say, however, that the four add-on packs will encompass new characters, missions, and experiences.

If there are any particular characters you’re hoping to meet and/or play as, share your hopes in the comments below.

Each round of DLC will retail for $9.99, but if you purchase the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass for $29.99 you can get them for a nice discount.

The Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass will be available for all platforms on which the game will ship: Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC.

Interestingly, the Season Pass won’t include free access to every piece of add-on content. The Shock Drop Slaughter Pit, for example, is not going to be included, though it will be available for purchase at a later date.

If you want to get it for free, simply pre-order Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel from participating retailers. That simple pre-order will get you access to the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit bonus content.

If you’re interested, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is available now for pre-order on Amazon.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place between the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2. The game will let players discover the story behind Borderlands 2’s villain, Handsome Jack, and his rise to power leading up to Borderlands 2. That means that, yes, Handsome Jack is fully playable in the game.
