After the longest development cycle in the history of video games, Duke Nukem Forever has begun shipping to retail today for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Duke Nukem Forever has been in development for more than 15 years.
Duke Nukem Forever has gone from being highly anticipated when it was originally announced in April 1997, to achieving mythological status when it disappeared for more than a decade. All told, development teams at 3DRealms, Triptych Studios, Gearbox Software, Piranha Games and other contributors were responsible for bringing the title to retail.
Duke Nukem Forever stars the legendary lady killer and alien slayer Duke Nukem, who finds himself on a head-popping, bone-rattling shooter with brazenly crude humor, impossibly statuesque women and catchy one-liners.
