Just in time to capitalize on the fan fever surrounding the NBA playoffs, Midway today began shipping NBA Ballers: Chosen One for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
NBA Ballers: Chosen One is the latest entry in Midway’s arcade-style basketball series, and it marks a return to the series’ roots with even more over-the-top gameplay than the most-recent NBA Ballers games.
NBA Ballers: Chosen One features both one-on-one and two-on-two action with the NBA’s elite players, and it includes a new “action movie” style game camera that highlight every move. Again, this was all designed with a focus on capturing the over-the-top gameplay. The game also re-introduces the Create-a-Baller mode in which gamers can customize a character and take on the challenge of the “Chosen One Tournament” in the single-player game.
As players progress through the game, they can earn the right to use an NBA star’s “Shut ‘Em Down” Super Move. Of course, there’s also the option to take a custom-created baller online for multiplayer via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
Other than the NBA players, NBA Ballers: Chosen One also features Chuck D., the founder and front man for hip-hop act Public Enemy. Chuck D. serves as announcer and studio host for Chosen One, and he provides play-by-play commentary throughout the game.
