Painkiller Hell & Damnation Blasts Onto Xbox 360, PS3

June 28, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

The demonic first-person shooter Painkiller Hell & Damnation is now available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game has 14 core levels and four intense boss levels, with the Xbox 360 getting its own exclusive level and the PS3 getting its own exclusive level as well.

In Painkiller Hell & Damnation, players assume the role of Daniel Garner who has been put in the unenviable position of being the toy of darkness and light to fight his way past hordes of demons and fiends. The only question is: will he be able to stop the powerful creatures that stand in his way so that he can be reunited with his wife Catherine?

Powered by Unreal Engine 3, the game is a modern remake of the classic shooters Painkiller (which we reviewed way back in the day and absolutely loved) and Battle Out Of Hell. The demonic enemies span 30 different classes, each of which represents the nastiest, darkest creature of Hell you might imagine.

Naturally, taking out all those evil ghouls requires some heavy and creative firepower, which is something the Painkiller games are known for. Nordic Games, the publisher of Painkiller Hell & Damnation, promises a “devastating and unique arsenal of weapons,” so it sounds like that tradition is going to be upheld.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation includes multiple gameplay modes in its four-chapter setup, including both a single-player mode and co-operative campaign. There are also competitive multiplayer modes that support both PvP and PvE gameplay.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation is available immediately on both Xbox 360 and PS3 for $29.99 in the United States, 29.99 Euros in Europe, and £24.99 in the UK.
