The Monsters have arrived! PixelJunk Monsters is available now on PS3 for $7.99 (for a limited time only, of course). PixelJunk Monsters is a tower-defense real-time-strategy game for the PlayStation Network.
Developed by Q Games, PixelJunk Monsters has gamer protecting an island and its villagers on hand-drawn 2D levels — in 1080p high-definition display! Every level is contained on one screen, forcing players to convert trees into various types of defense towers ranging from cannons and anti-air guns. There are also unlockable towers such as fire towers and laser towers.
In PixelJunk Monsters, menacing monsters are heading toward the village, but each one players destroy leads to a pile of gold coins and gems. This serves as currency with which players build towers and buy access to the locked towers.
Players can enjoy PixelJunk Monsters in a single game, co-operative two-player game or online with a friend.
And probably best of all, at least for cross-platform junkies, PixelJunk Monsters supports remote play via the PSP.
