July 7, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

With the summer concert season in high gear, Rock Band is getting some new music of its own on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Effective July 8, music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rush will be available for download via the Rock Band Music Store.

Two Rock Band-exclusive versions of classic Rush songs will hit Rock Band direct from the Rush Masters Vault: “Closer To The Heart” and “Working Man (Vault Edition).” The latter will include a never-released alternative guitar solo. The songs will be available for $1.99 per track on PS3, or 160 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360.

In addition, two new tracks from the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be appearing on Rock Band: “Snow ((Hey Oh))” and “Tell Me Baby,” both from the group’s Stadium Arcadium album. As with the Rush tracks, the Red Hot Chili Pepper songs will be available for $1.99 each (PS3) and 160 Microsoft Points (Xbox 360).
